Technology Planning

For participation in many technology-funding opportunities in California, a school district must have a state-approved technology plan. CTAP 6 provides resources to assist in the creation of a district technology plan.

A number of school districts in CTAP Region 6 have technology plans that will expire during the 2009-2010 school year. In addition, there are several school districts that would qualify for EETT grant funds and/or E-Rate discounts by writing a state-approved technology plan. Resources from the CTAP 6 Technology Planning workshops can be found here.

Federal auditing requirements for E-Rate funds require school districts to complete their technology plan revisions before they file Form 470. In order to meet the E-Rate requirements for Form 470, it is recommended that districts submit their technology plans for state approval during either Cycle A or Cycle B. The submission dates for district technology plans are:

  • • Cycle A – September 17, 2010
  • • Cycle B – November 19, 2010
  • • Cycle C – March 11, 2011
